📍 Destinations: Phuket, Phi Phi, Krabi - Thailand

⏳ Duration: 22 days

🌟 Highlights of the trip: The trip's various destinations were a perfect combination for us, with a mix of both less touristy and more touristy areas, city and beach. The three coolest things we did were definitely renting a scooter for a whole day and riding around in more local areas, going on a boat trip out from Phi Phi, and experiencing the completely new nature and culture filled with the sweetest locals.

✈️ Tips & tricks: Search for inspiration online, possibly via this app, on TikTok, or ask ChatGPT for advice regarding logistics. In addition, I would recommend going to a Danish pharmacy before departure and getting advice on which medications they recommend you have with you. My partner and I took Lactocare probiotic tablets every day, which were supposed to help strengthen the stomach - and maybe they were part of the reason we didn't suffer from an upset stomach or vomiting.

🍽️ Food experiences: 7-Eleven was just as good as people had heard via TikTok - It was really great that you could always get a cheap and delicious meal where you didn't have to worry about food poisoning.

In addition, Pad Thai and Fried Rice were really popular! On Phi Phi we were among others at the very popular restaurant Gralic, which was super delicious. However, I would recommend choosing food with a little care, so that you hopefully avoid food poisoning.

🏠 Accommodation: We started with 6 nights in Phuket, Rawai at Meet Holiday hotel, which really was a delicious and cozy hotel with a very nice pool area. However, there was a little drive to a "proper" beach, and the beds were very hard.

On Phi Phi we stayed at P.p casita, which was a "resort" with the coziest little huts. It was really nice and different from what we had tried before. However, they often played very loud remixed music by the pool, so you have to be okay with that...

Then we stayed at a hotel called Ao Nang Colors in Krabi, which was also super nice with a good location and a nice rooftop pool.

Before going home we stayed in Phuket again, but this time in an area near Surin Beach, which really was a very beautiful beach with cozy restaurants nearby. However, there was generally a lot going on in that part of the development in the area near the beach.

📝 The story of the trip: The trip to Thailand is both my partner's and my own longest trip so far, which on top of that was without parents and to a continent we had never been to before. For these reasons, I was both excited and a little nervous when we took the train to Kastrup in early March. However, everything simply went just as it should, and we couldn't have wished for a better trip. Thailand surprised us positively in so many ways, but one of the best things was simply the locals. We never experienced anything unsafe or uncomfortable, even in more "remote" or local areas. For this reason, it is at least not the last time we will travel to Thailand!
