How a wish comes true
Make-A-Wish Denmark grants wishes for children with serious illnesses. A wish brings joy and hope — and a break from hospitals and treatment for the whole family.
The referral
A child is referred by family, friends, or healthcare professionals. Make-A-Wish checks with the child's doctor to ensure that the child meets the criteria.
Wish found
Volunteer wish granters visit the child and the family and work together to discover the child's greatest wish.
The expectation
While the wish is being planned — tailored to the child's treatment — the child has something to look forward to. Anticipation is an important part of the wish.
Wish granted
The day arrives. Make-A-Wish takes care of the planning and expenses, so the family can enjoy the experience together.
What happens
The memories and hope stay with the child and the family — even when everyday life with illness returns.

It started with my cousin
